    Abstract:

The site is located at the crossing of two roads in a residential area of recent development. The building tries to maintain an intermediate scale (size) between the adjacent houses and major industrial development nearby. In a certain way, it softens the transition between the two environments. Pedestrian access is made through the west end while the parking and loading platform face the east, in front of the nearby highway. The building shelters a large supermarket and a series of smaller premises. The volume is fragmented according to the premises of its interior, highlighted with colour variations on the outside. A curved canopy crowns the façade. The main deck of the building, visible from the northern access is solved by a slightly curved surface that includes natural lighting (skylights) for the supermarket and that serves as a "fifth facade" to the building.
