    Abstract:

This project was shortlisted in an open competition. On an elongated site, the Developer planned the construction of a singular building in successive phases, expandable without affecting what was already built. We chose a building that offered an image of continuity when built as well as in intermediate stages. A single building that keeps growing with the same features as the first one, instead of individual buildings, more or less connected between them. The building adapts to the shape of the plot, beginning with the completion of the first phase on the nearest end to the main entrance. INDOOR COVERED STREET. A big hollow spine crosses the building from one end to the other, with leaning offices on both sides. This “street” has the full height of the building, and is covered in its upper level with structural elements that filter the natural light, protecting the inside against excessive sun exposure and allowing natural ventilation. This pedestrian courtyard is traversed by walkways at different heights that link opposite working areas on the same floor and some are used for meeting rooms.
