    Abstract:

First prize in an open competition. This project took the challenge of designing a large building without losing the close and almost domestic scale of a workplace. The project consists of three pieces of equal size, both in width, length and height: two solid rectangles between an “empty” one that acts as an inner pedestrian street which becomes the main space of the building. Between the two rectangles intersect the great central street in different heights and in different positions several walkways and rooms. The main central inner street is of vital importance and becomes the generating idea of the project. The effect of transparencies and reflections between the different volumes generates a feeling of lightness and transparency. The double skin around the building is designed to let as much natural light inside as possible but with solar protection and intensity regulation.
