The project involves the transformation of an old 1940 elder’s residence into a modern office building. This meant that the building should no longer look like a residence too. After researching the site´s background we found that the building could also grow in height one floor more. This floor addition was also forced by the previous existence of a badly preserved leaking roof which needed to be replaced. However, all the site works had to be done with all office staff working underneath it. The new added floor turned out as the real “leivmotiv” of the project, configured as a large observation deck that overlooks the pine forest nearby and Madrid’s northern skyline. The cantilevered roof provides the adequate sun protection, so the views are guaranteed all year long. The main entrance was also re-arranged and emphasized by a new canopy and facade cladding that welcomes the business visitors.
