The former Korean Pavilion at Expo 92 in Seville was made an office building the year after. We received the commission of creating an extension by adding two more floors to the existing building. This addition involved the uninterrupted operation of the current office building, so that the intervention should be raised completely independent from the existing construction, standing over him. The result is actually two superimposed buildings (existing and extension) with a unitary appearance. The extension was elevated by a new outer structure external to the existing offices, with high span beams that cover the building entirely and create a new raised support for the additional floors. Also new opaque vertical bodies are placed at the corners, hosting vertical communications. Joining together these four bodies stands a new glazing in different colours, superimposed to the existing facades, generating a large air chamber in between. The new floors have a large courtyard to improve its thermal and lighting conditions.
