    Abstract:

The project is an occasional use housing in a quiet area of the Mediterranean coast. A very optimized plan, using conventional building systems, simple means and local materials. The project was conceived as a cubic volume that sits on a flat terrain and displays a series of balconies, terraces and verandas around it. The housing program focuses on two floors with a square grid whose rooms overlook in the four directions of the site. The holes that appear in the facade are sized accordingly to their orientation. This chrysalis is closed, opaque and motionless when uninhabited but it blossoms with the arrival of its dwellers. The mild local weather provides outside enjoyment almost all year long, hence the porches and terraces are considered almost interiors too. Outside a single material and colour, reflecting the simplicity of construction and the local tradition.
