    Abstract:

Intermediate Station in the high-speed railway between Antequera and Granada in the south of Spain. The station is located parallel to the tracks. The wild environment away from the city center will allow a gradual approach to the station from the highway nearby. The protection requirements of traveller’s flows through the platform and parking canopies led to a global covering concept that unifies the complex image. The main building is placed next to the tracks underpass, as a nexus between the two levels of passenger’s traffic, top (trains), bottom (vehicles). The roof that embraces the complex folds at its ends. In the main lobby, the two deck levels encounter in a vertical extension that generates a large skylight to bring in natural northern light into the station. The exterior walls of the station are set back so that the roof cantilevered perimeter produces permanent solar protection.
