    Abstract:

It’s an intermediate station on the high-speed railway between Madrid and Valladolid. Functionally it’s both a station and a railway tunnel control centre. The main building stands on a wide platform over the tracks, which run half-buried. A series of alabaster "light wells" drill the roof to introduce filtered natural light into the station.
